While much of the Lowry neighborhood is new, there is housing that dates back to the origins of the air base. Many of these properties have been renovated and expanded.   

New master-planned Lowry includes over 800-acres of community open space and parks. Public flower gardens are a source of Lowry’s city pride as is the abundant display of public art. 

While the building architecture is decidedly modern, it is creatively varied. Lowry’s Town Center is filled with shopping options and restaurants. Residents can enjoy varied entertainment at Lowry's John Hand Theater community performance space.  The Lowry Swim Club and Big Bear Ice Arena are activity centers offering classes and activities in support of a healthy lifestyle.
