Baron Allois Gillaume Eugen von Winckler of Prussia purchased a 32-block land tract and platted the beginnings of Park Hill in 1887. Park Hill attracted Europeans with homes being first built around 1900. The neighborhood experienced continued growth with the extension of streetcar lines into the Park Hill neighborhood. 

The 1920s and 1930s saw the construction of Tudors, Queen Annes, Bungalows and Denver Squares. The end of World War II saw another explosion of growth in the northern portion of the neighborhood with returning servicemen and first time home buyers. The expansion of Stapleton Airfield in neighboring Lowry also increased the demand for Park Hill housing.

Park Hill is home to nationally-recognized Johnson and Wales University, the Denver School of the Arts, and a branch of the Denver University’s law school. The Park Hill Golf Course opened in 1931 and remains popular among golf enthusiasts.

Park Hill has a diverse mix of housing options together with a diversity mix of culture and ethnicity. You will see a pride of ownership as you drive through this neighborhood.
